Not all fountains are destined to be placed outdoors for the entire world to see. The misting fountain creates its mist in a much different way than that of a fog machine or a mister which you may see outdoors in a restaurant in the desert. Instead of using dry ice or tiny attachments to a hose, the misting fountain actually uses rapidly moving ultrasonic vibrations to stir the water in the fountain into a fine mist. There is also a theory that the vibrations from the misting fountain produce ions which will help purify the air around the fountain. When running your misting fountain, however, remember to keep it away from any antique wooden objects, as the water eventually condenses and may ruin any wood near to the fountain.
